Stephan Bürgler (born November 21, 1987 in Klagenfurt ) is an Austrian football player . He is currently playing at SAK Klagenfurt .

Career

The striker began his career in June 1994 in the youth of Austria Klagenfurt and the successor club FC Kärnten . Between July 2006 and January 2007 he was registered with ASKÖ Köttmannsdorf in the Lower League East , whereupon he joined the first team in Klagenfurt. In May 2007 he made his debut in the second division when he came on as a substitute for Marc Sand on matchday 30 of the 2006/07 season against VfB Admira Wacker Mödling in the 63rd minute . For the 2007/08 season he moved to Bundesliga club SK Austria Kärnten , but at the same time continued to work for FC Kärnten as a cooperation player. Bürgler made his debut in the Bundesliga on July 22, 2007, the third matchday of the 2007/08 season, at the game between SV Ried and the Carinthians. Bürgler came on for Gerald Krajic in the 83rd minute ; the game was lost 0: 3. Bürgler is known for his tough style of play. In the autumn of 2007 he got four yellow cards and one red card for gross foul play in ten games in the second division. In December 2009 the contract with Austria Kärnten was terminated.

On the last day of the transfer period in winter 2009/10, Bürgler switched to the regional league for USV Allerheiligen and from there in summer 2010 to league competitor SK Austria Klagenfurt . In January 2012 he moved two classes lower in the Lower League East to FC Welzenegg , a club in the east of Klagenfurt , and from summer 2012 he played in ASKÖ Köttmannsdorf, which was then second in the Lower League East in the Carinthian Regional League , for which he already played played between 2006 and 2007.

After four years with Köttmannsdorf, he moved to league competitor SAK Klagenfurt for the 2016/17 season .
