Career

The striker began playing football at SV Wernberg , where he played until 2002. He then moved to FC Kärnten . With the Carinthians, Sand made the leap into the fighting team in 2005. He completed a total of 37 league games in the first division for the club, in which he was able to score ten goals. As the team captain of the Austrian U-19 national team, he took part in the 2007 U-19 European Football Championship in his own country in the same year . Austria was eliminated in the group stage.

For the 2007/08 season Marc Sand moved to Germany for VfL Bochum .
