Marcel Canadi (born October 27, 1997 ) is an Austrian football player .

Career

Canadi started his career at SV Essling . In 2005 he moved to FK Austria Wien , where he later played in the academy. In 2012 he came to AKA Vorarlberg .

In July 2013, he was against First Vienna FC for the first time in the squad of the second division SCR Altach , but was not used. In the summer of 2014 he moved to Germany to the A-juniors of Borussia Monchengladbach .

For the 2016/17 season he moved up to the squad of the U-23 team. He made his regional league debut in May 2017 when he came on as a substitute for Kwame Yeboah against Sportfreunde Siegen in the 75th minute on matchday 22 of that season . In that game he scored the goal to make it 1-0.

In August 2017 he returned to Austria, where he joined the second division club SC Austria Lustenau , where he received a contract valid until June 2020. In September 2017, he made his debut in the second division when he was in the starting line-up against TSV Hartberg on matchday nine of the 2017/18 season and was replaced by Bojan Avramović in the 54th minute . After 49 appearances in the second division for Lustenau, in which he scored eight goals, he moved to league competitor SKU Amstetten in February 2020 . For the Lower Austrians he made twelve appearances in the second division, in which he scored three goals.

For the 2020/21 season he moved to the Bundesliga club SV Ried , with whom he received a contract that ran until June 2022.

Personal

His father Damir (* 1970) was also a soccer player and now works as a coach.
