Marko Kvasina (born December 20, 1996 in Vienna ) is an Austrian football player of Croatian descent.

Career start in Vienna

Kvasina started his career at First Vienna FC . For the 2011/12 season he came to the academy of FK Austria Vienna . He took part in the UEFA Youth League with the U-19 team of Austria in the 2013/14 season . With the team he was eliminated in the round of 16 against Benfica Lisbon , Kvasina made four appearances in the Youth League and scored one goal.

In March 2014 he made his debut for the amateurs of Austria in the Regionalliga when he was in the starting line-up against the amateurs of SV Mattersburg on matchday 16 of the 2013/14 season . In the same month he scored his first goal in the third-highest division in a 6-0 win against ATSV Ober-Grafendorf . In May 2014, a 3-3 draw against the Vienna Sports Club was followed by his first double for the "Jungveilchen". By the end of the season he had completed 14 regional league games, in which he scored six goals.

In October 2014 he was against SC Wiener Neustadt for the first time in the squad of the professionals of Austria. He made his Bundesliga debut the following month when he came on as a substitute for Mario Leitgeb on matchday 16 of the 2014/15 season against FC Admira Wacker Mödling in the 77th minute . In his second appearance in December 2014 against SV Grödig , he scored his first Bundesliga goal with the goal to make it 1-0. In February 2015 he started against SCR Altach for the first time before he was replaced by Alexander Grünwald in the 71st minute . In the 2015/16 season, Kvasina only made three appearances in the Bundesliga and played more for the amateurs, for whom he scored nine goals in 24 regional league games. In the 2016/17 season he was able to prevail with Austria in qualifying for the UEFA Europa League against FK Kukësi , Spartak Trnava and Rosenborg Trondheim and thus qualify for the main round. Kvasina made three appearances as a substitute during qualification, in the second leg against Trnava he prepared Kevin Friesenbichler's decisive goal to make it 1-0, which brought Austria into extra time. At FC Twente in the Eredivisie

In July 2017 he moved to the Netherlands for FC Twente Enschede , with whom he received a contract valid until June 2021. Back in the Bundesliga

Kvasina then returned to Austria for the 2018/19 season and moved to SV Mattersburg , where he received a contract that ran until June 2020. For Burgenland, he scored two goals on his debut in the first round match in the ÖFB Cup against USV Allerheiligen . Also in the league scored a goal in the 3-2 win against SCR Altach in his first appearance for Mattersburg in the Bundesliga. During the 2018/19 season he commuted between the starting line-up and the bench at Mattersburg; at the end of the season he had 24 appearances in which he scored six goals, 15 times he was in the starting line-up. In the 2019/20 season he was hardly in the starting line-up under the new coach Franz Ponweiser . A second time abroad

For this reason, he left Mattersburg after his contract ended after the 2019/20 season and moved to Belgium to KV Ostend , where he received a contract that ran until June 2023.

National team

Kvasina played against Italy for the first time for the Austrian U-17 team in August 2013 and was able to score his first goal in the national dress in the game that Austria won 2-1. With Austria's U-17 team, he also took part in the World Cup in the United Arab Emirates in the same year , where they were the last in Group E to be eliminated in the preliminary round.
