Ascent | |||||||
Only three years later, in 1998, they were promoted to the Regionalliga West - SV Reichenau had thus moved up from the lowest to the third highest division in Austria in the 22 years of its existence. The Innsbruckers achieved their best position so far with third place in the final table in 2000, but far from any title chance: With 52 points they were 16 points behind the second, SCR Altach , and 21 points behind the champions, FC Lustenau .
Away from the championship, SV Reichenau celebrated its greatest triumph by winning the Tyrolean Cup for amateur teams in 2002: In the final on May 30, 2002, regional league competitor WSG Wattens was defeated 2-1.
In the seasons 2002/03 to 2005/06, SV Reichenau formed the game association Reichenau / Aldrans together with the regional league club SV Aldrans, which was founded in 1978 . During this time, the most successful regional league season in terms of play falls in history: after the 2004/05 autumn championship title, the team led the table up to ten rounds before the end. In the end - just like in 2000 - you had 52 points in your account. That meant they were only six points behind the champions, FC Kufstein , but in the final standings this only meant 6th place.

From the 2006/07 season to the 2009/10 season, SV Reichenau formed a game association with FC Union Innsbruck . The first team of SV Reichenau / Union Innsbruck, which played in the Regionalliga West in those years, competed in SV Reichenau's red, white and black jerseys and called the sports field there home. The second team, which played two or one class lower in those years, wore the blue club colors of FC Union and played their home games at the sports field Fennerkaserne in Innsbruck city center.
The SV Reichenau / Union Innsbruck reached the regional league positions 11, 13, 7 and 11 in these years.
The crowning glory in 2010 was the return to the finals of the Tyrolean Cup. Against FC Kufstein , Innsbruck were able to equalize a 0-2 in a dramatic finish, but were ultimately defeated on penalties.
Before that, at the beginning of the spring championship in March 2010, the paradoxical situation had arisen that the second team in the syndicate (the Union) was about to be promoted to the Regionalliga West, while the first team (the Reichenau) was threatened with relegation from this league . For this reason, those responsible decided to dissolve the syndicate at the end of the 2009/10 season. Since the SPG Reichenau / Union Innsbruck 1b crowned themselves champions of the regional league , which has meanwhile been renamed the UPC Tirol League , on the very last matchday of 2009/10 , the two teams will enter the 2010/11 regional league season as equal competitors .

The first season after the game union was not very successful. While the former junior partner Union was able to keep the class, the Reichenauer relegated to the UPC Tirol League as the penultimate . There they played at the top right from the start in the 2011/12 season; in May 2012, however, the board of the league leaders declared that they would forego promotion even in the case of the championship title. This was justified with economic aspects and the unclear future of Tyrol in the Regionalliga West. Away from the league everyday SVG made in autumn 2011 for a sensation when they the in round 2 ÖFB Cup the Bundesliga Kapfenberger SV 2: 1 after extra time in the competition threw. In the round of 16, the national league team was able to keep the game against record cup winners FK Austria Wien open for a long time in front of 1000 spectators at the Reichenau sports field, which had already been sold out weeks before , before a double strike in the 77th and 79th minutes sealed the 2-0 and cup-out. From a sporting point of view, the Reichenau became champions in the 2011/12 season, but renounced promotion to the regional league. 3 seasons later, the club became champions again in 2015 and this time rose. With a victory over the SVI, the Tyrolean Cup could also be won.

When the club was founded in 1976, the Reichenau district did not yet have a suitable sports facility, so the SVG's home games were held on Haller Lend , the stadium of SV Hall . In 1979 their own sports facility was opened in Reichenau, according to the club a “notorious clay court”, which was only greened with the promotion to the state league in 1985. From November 2010 to June 2011, the 1980s stalls and canteen were demolished and replaced by a contemporary building; In addition, a covered grandstand for 250 people was built.
