Sergio Gómez Martín (born September 4, 2000 in Badalona ) is a Spanish football player . The midfielder has been playing on loan from Borussia Dortmund at SD Huesca since August 2019 and is a young Spanish national player.
Career
In the club
Gómez started playing football at FC Trajana before joining the youth team at Espanyol Barcelona via FC Badalona . In the summer of 2010 he moved to FC Barcelona and from then on went through all youth teams in La Masia . With the A-youth Gómez u. a. in the UEFA Youth League . He made his men's debut on January 6, 2018 at the age of 17 when he came on as a substitute in the second team 's 1-1 draw against Real Zaragoza in the Segunda División just before the end of the game.
On January 30, 2018, Gómez moved to the German Bundesliga club Borussia Dortmund for a fixed transfer fee . He trained with the pros from now on and was supposed to play with the U19s in the A-Junioren-Bundesliga until the end of the 2017/18 season . After playing four times in the A-Juniors Bundesliga, he was on March 31, 2018 against FC Bayern Munich for the first time in a Bundesliga match in the matchday squad. On April 8, 2018, he made his debut in the 3-0 win against VfB Stuttgart in the Bundesliga, when he came on for Marco Reus in the 87th minute . In total, Gómez played four times in the A-Junior Bundesliga and twice in the Bundesliga by the end of the season. In the further course, the midfielder was only on the field for the regional league team . In August 2019, he won his first title with the club when the double winner of the previous season, FC Bayern Munich, was defeated 2-0 in the DFL Supercup .
In August 2019, the Spaniard was loaned to the second division SD Huesca for the 2019/20 season in his home country . He was used in 36, often in the starting line-up, in attacking midfield and on the wings. Gómez was able to contribute one goal and three assists to the championship title. During the summer break, the loan was extended for the 2020/21 season.
In the national team
Gómez played in the Spanish U17 team from September 2016 to October 2017 . With her he won the U17 European Championship in Croatia in 2017 . At the U17 World Cup in India in 2017 , Gómez and his team took second place and was awarded the silver ball as the second best player in the tournament behind Englishman Phil Foden .
From January 2018, Gómez appeared fourteen times in the U19 selection and became European champions with the team in Armenia in 2019 .
As part of the qualification for the EM 2021 , the midfielder came to his first games for the U21s in Spain in November 2019 .
