The Indira Gandhi Athletic Stadium ( Assamese ইন্দিৰা গান্ধী এথলেটিক ষ্টেডিয়াম ), also known as Sarusajai Stadium , is a football stadium in Sarusajai , Guwahati in the Indian state of Assam . In addition to hosting football matches , the stadium is also used for athletics events . It has a capacity of 35,000 seats. In 2007 the 33rd national games of India and the U-17 soccer world championship 2017 were played here. It is the home stadium of NorthEast United FC in the Indian Super League as well as the Indian national football team .
