Ri Hyang-ok (born December 18, 1977 ) is a former North Korean soccer player and current referee. She participated in both functions in soccer world championships .
Career
Player
Ri took part as a midfielder with the North Korean national soccer team in the 1999 and 2003 World Cups, where she and her team were eliminated after the group matches. Ri was the only North Korean woman to play all six games over the full length of the game. In 2001 and 2003 she was also able to win the women's Asian soccer championship for the first time with the selection of North Korea . After failing to qualify for the 2004 Summer Olympics , she ended her playing career.
Referee
As a result, Ri switched to refereeing and took part in the 2014 U-20 Women's World Cup and the 2015 Algarve Cup . For the Soccer World Cup of Women in 2015 , she was also nominated, where he oversaw two group games round match between Germany and Sweden as well as the 3rd place match . After her playing career, Ri began studying English. The documentary Hana, dul, sed , published in 2011, portrays three other former North Korean national soccer players alongside Ri.
