Abel Ruiz Ortega (born January 28, 2000 in Almussafes , Valencian Community ) is a Spanish football player . He has been under contract with Sporting Braga as a loan player from FC Barcelona since the end of January 2020 .
Career

Ruiz was born in Almussafes near Valencia and came from Valencia CF to Barcelona FC in 2012 , where he renewed his contract on November 21, 2016. On April 9, 2017, Ruiz made his debut in the B team when he was still a junior player as a substitute for Jesús Alfaro in the 2-0 away win in Segunda División B against CF Badalona . On August 28, he made his debut in professional football, replacing David Concha in the 3-0 home defeat of the B team against CD Tenerife in the Segunda División . Ruiz scored his first goal in professional football with a 2 on 1 September 2017: 2 draw against the FC Granada . He also won the 2017/18 UEFA Youth League with the FC Barcelona youth team . Ruiz made his La Liga debut in a 2-0 win over Getafe CF on 12 May 2019 when he was substituted on for Philippe Coutinho .
In the 2019/20 winter transfer phase, Ruiz was loaned to Sporting Braga. At the end of the season there is a firm commitment for eight million euros.
National team
Ruiz won the U-17 European Championship in 2017 and the U-19 European Championship in 2019 with Spain . He finished second at the U-17 World Cup in 2017 . Most recently he played for the U-21 team.
