The 1st FIFA Junior World Cup (officially: FIFA World Youth Tournament for the Coca-Cola Cup ) was held in Tunisia from June 27 to July 10, 1977 . The world championship was secured by the Soviet selection, which in the final could only defeat Mexico 9: 8 on penalties.
The best player of the tournament was Volodymyr Bessonow from the Soviet Union, the top scorer was the Brazilian Guina .
