The Paraguayan U-20 national soccer team is a national team of Paraguayan soccer players. It is subject to the Asociación Paraguaya de Fútbol and represents it internationally at the U-20 level , for example in friendly matches against the national teams of other national associations or at the U-20 South American Championship and the U-20 World Championship .
The team became South American champions in 1971 and vice-South American champions in 1964 , 1967 , 1985 , 2009 and 2013 .
The best result at a world championship was fourth place at the 2001 World Cup in Argentina . In 1979 they reached the quarter-finals in Japan .
