Career

Schillinger made his international debut at the beginning of January 2002 in Klingenthal as part of the B World Cup. After rank 38 in the sprint, he and the team reached ninth place one day later. In the Gundersen singles he was 20th for the first time in the points. In Baiersbronn , too , he made it into the points in one of the three competitions.

At the following Junior World Championship in 2002 in Schonach in the Black Forest , he secured the gold medal in the team mass start with his teammates. In December he won the FIS competitions in Klingenthal. In January 2003, Schillinger started again in the B World Cup. But he also continued to miss top placements.

In January 2004, he landed in the top ten for the first time in Villach, Austria . At the Junior World Championships in 2004 in Stryn , he won the team's silver medal in the team mass start.

In August 2004 Schillinger competed for the first time at the Nordic Combined Grand Prix . He reached the points in Kandersteg and Oberstdorf . On December 30, 2004, Schillinger finally made his debut in the Nordic Combined World Cup after further starts in the B World Cup . Already in the first World Cup he managed to place points as 27th in Oberhof . The Baiersbronnner also proved his good form at the other World Cups and was regularly in the points. His best result and also his first and only podium place he landed with the team in second place at the Team World Cup in Pragelato .

In the Nordic Junior World Ski Championships 2005 in Finnish Rovaniemi he missed in Gundersen's singles fourth barely a medal but secured the team a little later again team gold. In the sprint, he won his first and only individual medal at Junior World Championships with silver. Since he did not contest any other World Cups after the Junior World Cup, he finished 44th in the overall World Cup ranking.

At the Summer Grand Prix 2005 in Steinbach-Hallenberg , Schillinger achieved a good top 20 placement in the sprint. For the 2005/06 season he was again part of the A national squad, but could no longer build on the successes of the previous season and finally moved back to the B squad in January. At the 2006 Summer Grand Prix , he and the team secured a podium again in second place in Berchtesgaden . In December he came back to the World Cup for some competitions, but remained without any points. Until his preliminary retirement in 2007, he started with mediocre results in the B World Cup.

In 2009 and 2011 Schillinger started again at the Winter Universiade , but remained there too without individual medal successes. Only with the team did he secure silver at the Winter Universiade 2009 in Yabuli , while he was sixth in the Gundersen competition and seventh in the mass start race. At the Winter Universiade 2011 in Erzurum , Turkey , he was sixth with the team, 18th in the mass start and 23rd in the Gundersen competition.

At the 2018 Winter Paralympics in Pyeongchang , he was the guide for cross-country skier and biathlete Vivian Hösch .
