Marcelo Josemir Saracchi Pintos (born April 23, 1998 in Paysandú ) is a Uruguayan football player . The midfielder is on loan from RB Leipzig to Galatasaray Istanbul .
Career
society
The 1.72 meter tall left defender Saracchi comes from the youth department of Danubio FC . He has been in the professional squad of the Montevideans since the Apertura 2015 at the latest . In the professional field, he made his debut on August 12, 2015 as part of the Copa Sudamericana as a substitute in the 77th minute of play for Ignacio González in the 0-1 defeat against the Chilean club CD Universidad Católica . He made his debut in the Primera División on August 16, 2015 in a 2-0 away win against Juventud , when he was also substituted on by coach Jorge Castelli in the 63rd minute for Leandro Sosa . In the 2015/16 season, he played 30 first division matches (one goal) and two games (no goal) in the 2015 Copa Sudamericana . This was followed by 14 more first division appearances (no goal) during the 2016 season. In the 2017 season, Saracchi completed ten league games and scored two goals.
In September 2017 he moved to Argentina to join River Plate . He played 19 league games (without scoring).
For the 2018/19 season, Saracchi moved to the Bundesliga for RB Leipzig . He signed a contract that ran until June 30, 2023. Saracchi made his Bundesliga debut on matchday 1 in the game against Borussia Dortmund , which ended in a 1: 4 defeat.
In October 2018 Saracchi was nominated as one of 40 worldwide U21 talents for the Golden Boy Award 2018 of the Italian sports newspaper Tuttosport .
With the 3-0 winning goal in the league game against Werder Bremen, he scored his first Bundesliga goal on September 21, 2019 in his second season for RB Leipzig. After only seven competitive games (1 goal) in the 2019/20 season , Leipzig awarded the Uruguayans to the Turkish first division club Galatasaray for 18 months in January 2020 .
National team
On September 23, 2018, Marcelo Saracchi was nominated for the first time for the Uruguayan national team by Uruguay's national coach Oscar Tabarez . There he made his debut in the friendly against South Korea on October 12, 2018 when he came on for Diego Laxalt in the 84th minute .
Before that, he played for the U15, U17 and U20 national teams of his home country.
In the U15, Saracchi made his debut on November 13, 2012 under coach Alejandro Garay in a 2-1 win in a friendly against Newell's Old Boys in the U-15 national team of Uruguay. He took part with the team at the U-15 South American Championship in Bolivia in 2013 , where Uruguay finished sixth. He also took part in the Caspian Cup in Baku, Azerbaijan . He made a total of 15 international matches in this age group and scored two goals.
In the Uruguayan U-17 selection , he was used for the first time by the responsible coach Santiago Ostolaza in the 3-0 away win in the friendly international against Paraguay on May 13, 2014. He was a member of the squad at the U-17 South American Championship in Paraguay in 2015 , in which Uruguay finished 5th. In the U17 he has made 24 international appearances and four goals.
On May 11, 2015, he was used by Fabián Coito for the first time in the 2-1 defeat in the friendly international game against Honduras in the Uruguayan U20 . Up to and including May 28, 2015, he played four international matches in the U20 (no goal). He also took part with the team in the 2015 U-20 World Cup in New Zealand , played from the end of May to June 20, 2015 , in which Uruguay failed in the round of 16 on penalties to Brazil. During the tournament he was used once (no goal). Saracchi played a total of 24 international matches for the U20s in Uruguay. He couldn't score any goals.
