The FC Seso Câmpia Turzii is a Romanian football club from Câmpia Turzii . He played a total of two years in the highest Romanian football league, Divizia A , and was in the 1956 cup final . Since 2009 he has been playing in the third highest division, Liga III .

history

Seso Câmpia Turzii was founded in 1921 under the name Industria Sârmei Câmpia Turzii , the sports club of the local wire factory . In 1936, the club made the first nationwide attention to himself when he qualify for the newly founded Divizia C succeeded. Just two years later he rose to the second highest Romanian league, Divizia B , to which he also belonged when the game was interrupted due to the war .

After the end of the war, Industria Sârmei was reintegrated into Divizia B. After being renamed Metalul Câmpia Turzii in 1950, the club experienced its most successful period in the 1950s. In 1951 he made the first leap into the highest league, Divizia A , from which he was immediately relegated. After the immediate resurgence, Metalul said goodbye to the House of Lords at the end of the 1954 season to this day.

The club achieved the greatest success in the club's history to date after being renamed Energia Câmpia Turzii in 1956: After victories against the first division side Progresul Bucharest , Locomotiva Timișoara and Locomotiva Bucharest , he reached the Romanian Cup final , where he lost 2-0 to Progresul Oradea . A short time later the club name was changed back to Industria Sârmei Câmpia Turzii .

After several unsuccessful attempts to return to Divizia A, Industria Sârmei rose from Divizia B in 1969. This was followed by a varied 15 years, which the club commuted several times between Divizia B and Divizia C - until 1985 there were three ascents and three relegations. After the last relegation, there was even a crash into the fourth division, when the club fell victim to the reform of the game operation in 1992, when almost all clubs in Divizia C had to relegate.

After returning to national gaming operations in 1995, Industria Sârmei had nothing to do with relegation from the start and was consistently one of the top places before returning to Divizia B in 2001. There the club was able to stay in midfield for eight years. In the summer of 2007 Alpár Mészáros was brought in as the successor to the previous coach Ioan Tătăran , but he was released again on October 29, 2007 after 12 championship games in which the team could only score 12 points. In January 2008, Dorel Purdea , who had coached third division FC Ghimbav 2000 in the first half of the season, was hired as the new head coach. However, he had to give up his post on September 22, 2008 after five defeats in the first six games of Liga II in 2008/09 . The club started this season under the name Mechel Câmpia Turzii after the local wire factory was taken over by the Russian group Mechel .

Also Purdeas on September 23, 2008 set successor Alexandru Andrași remained similarly unsuccessful in six league games and dissolved his contract with the bottom of the table in early November 2008. He was replaced by his previous assistant coach Valentin Șandru . In early 2009, Seso Iara , a neighboring club from League III financed by Gheorghe Irimieş , left Mechel coach Ioan Tătăran and eight players. However, the table situation did not improve and the previous sports director and press spokesman Mihai Cuc Tătăran replaced as coach for the last games . At the end of the 2008/09 season, the heavily indebted Mechel rose from the bottom of the table in League III and merged with Seso Iara to form FC Seso Câmpia Turzii in July 2009 . Ioan Tătăran was appointed to coach the new team.

After the immediate resurgence was missed in the 2009/10 season, the patron Gheorghe Irimieş parted ways with Tătăran at the end of June and brought in a new coach with the previous assistant coach of Universitatea Cluj , Marius Popescu , and Sorin Vădana new president on board. But also in the following season, FC Seso Câmpia Turzii missed promotion to League II as second in the table and coach Popescu left the club in the summer of 2011 for FC Botoșani . He was replaced by his assistant coach, Valentin Șandru .
