Câmpia Turzii (until 1925 Ghiriş-Arieş ; German Jerischmarkt , Hungarian Aranyosgyéres ) is a Romanian city in and is located in the Cluj district in the Transylvania region .
history
Câmpia Turzii was founded in 1925 from the merger of the villages Ghiriș-Sâncrai and Ghiriș-Arieș . In 2001 the city was elevated to a municipality . In 2002 the city had 26,865 inhabitants. In the following years there was a decrease in the number of inhabitants. By 2011 the number had decreased to 22,223 inhabitants.
