Bayramiç is a city and a district in the northwestern Turkish province of Çanakkale .
The city is located about 45 kilometers southeast of the provincial capital Çanakkale . The district town houses around 52 percent of the district's population.
The district is located in the south of the province. It is bordered by Ayvacık County and Balıkesir Province ( Edremit County ) to the south, Ezine County and Central County to the west, and Çan and Yenice Counties to the east . Bayramiç is located in the valley of the Karamenderes Çayı , the ancient Skamander , which is dammed east of the city to the Bayramiç Barajı reservoir.
In addition to the district town, the district consists of 75 villages ( Köy ) with an average of 192 residents. There is only one village with more than 1000 inhabitants: Evciler (1,395 inh.)
