The Liga II 2013/14 was the 74th season of the second highest Romanian football league . It started on September 7, 2013 and ended on June 7, 2014 . From the beginning of December 2013 to the end of February 2014, gaming operations were suspended ( winter break ). CSMS Iași , Rapid Bucharest , CSU Craiova and ASA Târgu Mureș were promoted to League 1 .

mode

League II was played in two seasons with 12 teams each. The six teams placed first qualified for the promotion round, the six remaining teams for the relegation round. The results obtained among each other have been adopted. The two first-placed teams in each promotion round rose to League 1 , while the last three teams of the two relegation rounds had to relegate to League III .

Second teams from first division clubs, clubs that were founded less than three years ago, as well as clubs with tax debts were not eligible for promotion. There were three points for a win, one for a draw and no point for a loss. If there was a tie at the end of the season, it was not the goal difference that decided , but the direct comparison .

Season 1 only played with 12 teams, as the Sportul Studențesc team had withdrawn before the first match day.
