history

The association was founded in 2006 under the name AS Mesagerul Bacău on the initiative of friends and colleagues who are enthusiastic about sports. The club was third in its regional league in the 2006/07 season and was able to participate in the promotion playoffs to League IV . Due to the young players who lacked experience, the club missed promotion. In the 2007/08 season, the club achieved first place in the league and thus succeeded in promotion to League IV. The club continued to improve and was again first after promotion, but failed in the playoffs for League III3: 5 on penalties to Dumitresti FC. As two years earlier, the club was promoted in the following season. After the rise in July 2010, AS Mesagerul Bacau then changed its name to today's SC Bacau. In the 2012/13 season, the club was first in the third division and rose for the first time in the second highest Romanian division, League II . In the 2015/16 season they finished fourth, but withdrew to League III due to financial problems. After relegation from League III in the 2016/17 season, the club entered the League IV as Gauss Bacau . There he made the promotion, but was dissolved before the start of the 2018/19 season.
