The FC Academica Clinceni is a Romanian football club from Clinceni in Ilfov county . The association was founded in 2005 under the name CS Buftea . The club has been called FC Academica Clinceni since summer 2015 and is currently playing in League 1 .
history
The club was formed in 2005 through the merger of Cimentul Fieni and a team from Buftea , which played in the fourth division. CS Buftea played in League III until the 2007/08 season , then the team achieved promotion to League II in the promotion playoffs .
In the 2008/09 season, the club was thirteenth in League II and was only able to avoid immediate relegation. In July 2009 the mayor of Buftea announced the sale of the course in Liga II for 500,000 euros to Săgeata Stejaru . The club took the place of Săgeata Stejaru in the third division in the following season.
Two years later, the club managed to return to the League II. On August 29, 2012, the club completed a cup game against ACS Berceni , where he mainly used players from their own U-19. As a result, Buftea conceded a record defeat in Romanian football with 31-0. In the 2012/13 season, the club was sixth in League II.
The club then moved several times. On August 2, the move from Buftea to Clinceni took place , the club name was changed from ACS Buftea to FC Clinceni . On June 26, 2014 the club moved to Piteşti and then called itself FC Academica Argeş . On June 24, 2015 the club moved back to Clinceni and has been called FC Academica Clinceni since then . The club finished second in the 2018/19 season and was promoted to League 1 for the first time .
