FC Politehnica Iași (full name Fotbal Club Politehnica Iași , often just Politehnica Iași for short ) is a football club from the northeast Romanian city of Iași . The club is the immediate successor of Politehnica Iași, which was dissolved in 2010 due to bankruptcy , and will play in the highest Romanian league, Liga 1 , in the 2017/18 season .
history
In August 2010, the clubs Navobi Iași and CSO Tricolorul Breaza (from the city of Breaza ) merged under the name CSMU Politehnica Iași, who competed in Liga II. In the summer of 2011 it was renamed to the current name CSMS Iași in order to avoid confusion with the former Équipe Politehnica Iași . After promotion from League II at the end of the 2011/12 season, the club played in the top division of the country, League 1 , but had to relegate after rank 17 after one season and was the first of season 1 to make the direct in the following season Resurgence. The club has been called FC Politehnica Iași since 2018 .
