The Dinamo Stadium ( Romanian Stadionul Dinamo ) is a football stadium with an athletics facility in the Romanian capital Bucharest . Since it opened, it has been the home of the Dinamo Bucharest football club , which welcomes its opponents to the games there.
history
The stadium opened on October 14, 1951. In the first game Dinamo and Locomotiva Timişoara faced each other. Dinamo prevailed in the opening game with 1-0 goals against Locomotiva. The spacious, uncovered stadium area offers 15,300 spectators a place. The floodlight system on four high steel masts has an illuminance of 1,400 lux .
After a renovation ( drainage system etc.) in 2002, the stadium is now fully usable again, after some events had to be canceled on rainy days. Before that, in 2001 the floodlights were renewed. In 2008 the stadium received new seating.
