Adrian Gheorghe Anca (born March 27, 1976 in Diosig , Bihor district ) is a former Romanian football player and current coach . He played a total of 113 games in the highest Romanian football league, League 1 .

Career as a player

Adrian Anca's career started late when he moved to Industria Sârmei Câmpia Turzii in Divizia B (now Liga II ) at the age of 25 . He attracted attention in his first year as a goalscorer. In the winter break of the 2002/03 season , the first division club Gloria Bistrița committed him , where he reached third place, but could not prevail.

In the summer of 2003, Anca returned to Divizia B and joined the ambitious CFR Cluj . This change turned out to be a stroke of luck for him. In his first season he was promoted to Divizia A, in which he himself had a significant share with 24 goals this season. As the club invested a lot of money in new players, they made it through to the top of Romania and qualified for the UEFA Cup for the first time at the end of the 2006/07 season .

While Anca was always a regular in the first few years in Cluj, he was rarely used in the 2007/08 season and therefore only had a small share in winning the championship and cup double . He left the club for league rivals Oțelul Galați , but moved on to his previous club Gloria Bistrița during the 2008/09 winter break . Here, too, he was rarely used and could not build on previous achievements. In early 2010 he went to Liga III to CS Luceafărul Oradea , where he ended his career in the summer of the same year.

Career as a coach

Anca already worked as an assistant coach during his time at CS Luceafărul Oradea . In the summer of 2010 he took over with FC Silvania Șimleu Silvaniei in the Liga II for the first time a club as head coach, but was dismissed in October.
