Gabriel Mureşan (born February 13, 1982 in Sighişoara , German: Schäßburg, Mureş district ) is a Romanian football player . The defensive midfielder, who can also act as a central defender, has been playing in Liga 1 at ASA Târgu Mureş since summer 2014 .

Career

society

Mureşan started in 2003 his career at Mobila Sovata in Divizia C . After a year he moved to Gaz Metan Medias , (German: Medias), in the Divizia B . After a season he moved to Gloria Bistrița , (German: Bistritz). In 2007 he moved to CFR Cluj for around € 300,000 , where he became champion in his first season . He was able to repeat this success in the 2009/10 season . During the same period he was able to win the Romanian Cup three times with his club . The 2010/11 season , the club was only able to finish in midfield. Mureșan was only used at the beginning of the season and in the final phase. In the 2011/12 season he fought back his regular place and was Romanian champion for the third time at the end of the season.

In the summer of 2013 Mureșan moved to Russia for FK Tom Tomsk . After relegation in 2014 , he left the club and returned to Romania, where promoted ASA Târgu Mureș took him under contract. There he was able to reach the runner-up in 2015 . He has been the team captain of ASA since February 2015 .

National team

Mureșan made his debut for Romania on June 2, 2007 against Slovenia . He was substituted on in the 77th minute. Romania won the game 2-1. After that he was not considered for over a year before he was part of the squad for the World Cup qualifier against France in October 2008 , where he made his starting eleven debut at 2-2. Again almost two years passed before national coach Răzvan Lucescu called him back to the national team. However, it was only enough for a short deployment in September 2010.

At the beginning of 2011 Mureșan became an integral part of the team and was used regularly. His last international match was on August 10, 2011 in the friendly against San Marino, his last international match.
