Florin Daniel Bratu (born February 1, 1980 in Bucharest ) is a former Romanian football player . He played a total of 201 games in the Romanian League 1 , the Turkish Süper Lig , the French Ligue 1 and the Bulgarian A Grupa . In 2003 he won the Romanian championship with Rapid Bucharest .

Career

Bratu began his career at Tractorul Brașov in Divizia B , where he was able to score eight goals in his first season. In 2001 he moved to the Romanian top club Rapid Bucharest , where he was able to contribute eleven goals to winning the championship in the 2002/03 season . In the summer of 2003 he moved to Turkey to Galatasaray Istanbul for a transfer fee of 2.75 million  US dollars . The 2003/04 season was sportingly disappointing for Galatasaray and ended with a sixth place.

After just one year, Bratu left Istanbul and moved to FC Nantes in the French Ligue 1 . There he could not assert himself and came in the 2004/05 season only on 13 missions. He was then loaned to Dinamo Bucharest for the 2005/06 season and to the promoted Valenciennes FC for the 2006/07 season.

Since FC Nantes was relegated to Ligue 2 in 2007 , Bratu left the club and moved to the reigning Romanian champions Dinamo Bucharest. Although he found his scoring risk again in the 2007/08 season and was one of the best strikers in League 1 with 14 goals , Dinamo only finished fourth. In the following season he started with a good hit rate of seven goals in the first seven missions, but was not used after the eleventh game day due to injury. Only in the second half of the 2009/10 season he was available to his club for a few games.

In July 2010, Bratu left Dinamo and signed with Litex Lovech in the Bulgarian A Grupa , but returned to League 1 to Gaz Metan Mediaș during the winter break . In the summer of 2012 he joined the newcomer Gloria Bistrița . There he ended his active career at the end of the year.

National team

Florin Bratu played 13 games for the Romanian national football team and was able to score two goals. He made his debut on February 12, 2003, when he came on as a substitute for Adrian Mutu in added time in the friendly against Slovakia . He was able to convince national coach Anghel Iordănescu , who relied on him again in the following European Championship qualifiers . In the friendly against Lithuania on April 30, 2003, he was in the starting line-up for the first time and scored his first goal with the winning goal. In 2004 he was employed less often and finally no longer appointed.

On October 17, 2007 Bratu came in the European Championship qualifier against Luxembourg after a three-year break to his comeback in the national team. In autumn 2008, three more games followed before he was stopped by an injury, so that his appearance in the World Cup qualifier against the Faroe Islands was his last international match to date.
