Florin Constantin Costea (born May 16, 1985 in Drăgăşani , Vâlcea County ) is a Romanian football player . He has been without a club since the beginning of 2018.

Career

Costea began his career at Rarora Râmnicu Vâlcea in 2003. In 2004 he moved to local rivals CSM Râmnicu Vâlcea , before he was signed in 2006 by the Romanian first division club FC Universitatea Craiova . At the end of the 2010/11 season he had to relegate his club to League II . In August 2011 he finally left Craiova and joined record champions Steaua Bucharest . In January 2013 he moved to league competitor CS Turnu Severin . At the end of the 2012/13 season he had to relegate with his new club. He then signed on to CFR Cluj . In March 2015 he moved to Arsenal Tula in the Russian Premier League . With Arsenal he had to relegate after the 2014/15 season . He was then signed by the Iraqi club Zakho FC , where his compatriot Ilie Stan was the head coach. In November 2015, he terminated his contract. He was then without a club before joining CSM Râmnicu Vâlcea in September 2016. In the winter break of 2016/17 , his club withdrew from play, so that he was without a club for the rest of the season. In the summer of 2017 he joined CS Șirineasa in Liga III . At the end of 2017, he terminated his contract.

National team

Internationally, Costea played six times for Romania. He made his debut in the friendly against Latvia in Urziceni on August 20, 2008, when he came on for Mirel Rădoi in the 73rd minute . The game ended 1-0 for Romania. His last appearance was on March 28, 2009 in the World Cup qualifier against Serbia .

Private

Florin Costea is the older brother of Mihai Costea (* 1988), with whom he played at FC Universitatea Craiova and Steaua Bucharest .
