Alin Ilie Minteuan (born November 12, 1976 in Cluj-Napoca , Cluj County ) is a former Romanian football player and current coach .
Career as a player
Minteuan started his career at CFR Cluj in Divizia B . In 1997 he moved to local rivals Universitatea Cluj in Divizia A , then after a strong season to Rapid Bucharest . Since he could not prevail there, he was transferred to Gloria Bistrița in January 1999 . In January 2001 he moved to the Israeli league ha'Alzu Hapoel Haifa and after one year in January 2002 he moved back to Romania to Gloria Bistrița. In 2004 he moved to Hapoel Be'er Scheva and in 2005 back to CFR Cluj. In December 2008, he ended his career and announced that he would work as an assistant coach at Cluj.
Career as a coach
In January 2009 he began his coaching career at CFR Cluj as an assistant coach and on November 25, 2010 he took over the position of head coach. After CFR had finished the 2010/11 season in eleventh place, he had to give way to the Portuguese Jorge Costa . He took over the club's second team in League III . In October 2012, he became the head coach of league rival Unirea Dej . Since June 2013 he has been assistant coach at CFR Cluj again.
