Tony , real name Anthony da Silva , (born December 20, 1980 in Le Creusot ) is a former French football player with Portuguese roots. The right full-back played a total of 199 games in the Portuguese Primeira Liga and the Romanian Liga 1 . In 2008 and 2010 he won the Romanian championship with CFR Cluj .

Career

Tony moved to GD Chaves in the Portuguese Liga de Honra in 2001 . After four seasons he moved to CF Estrela Amadora in the SuperLiga . In January 2007 he moved to CFR Cluj in the Romanian League 1 for 750,000 euros . On February 24, 2007 he made his debut in League 1 when he played in the 1-1 draw against Ceahlăul Piatra Neamț . Because of his aggressive style of play, he immediately became a crowd favorite. He later became deputy captain of the team in Cadu .

In January 2011 Tony left the CFR Cluj and returned to Vitória Guimarães in Portugal. There he only came to two missions. At the beginning of 2012 he moved to league rivals FC Paços de Ferreira . With his new club, he finished the 2012/13 season in third place in the Primeira Liga. Through the qualifying round for the Champions League , he came with his team in the Europa League and was eliminated in the group stage. In the league , the team could not build on the performance of the previous season and only secured the class in the relegation. Tony then left the club and joined newly promoted FC Penafiel . In the 2014/15 season it was used only irregularly. After relegation, he ended his career in summer 2015.
