André Filipe Ribeiro Leão (born May 20, 1985 in Freamunde ) is a Portuguese football player . The attacking midfielder has been playing for FC Paços de Ferreira since summer 2017 .
Career
society
Leão began his career with his home club SC Freamunde in the Liga de Honra , the second highest division in Portugal. In 2005 he moved to the 2nd team of FC Porto . In 2006 he moved to SC Beira-Mar in the Portuguese SuperLiga on a free transfer . On September 17, 2006 he made his debut in the SuperLiga when he came on for Luciano Ratinho in the 76th minute of the game in the 2-0 win against CF Estrela Amadora . In 2007 Leão moved to the Romanian league 1 to CFR Cluj for 500,000 euros . On August 1, 2007 he made his debut in League 1 when he was substituted on for Emmanuel Culio in the 72nd minute in the 1-0 win against Oțelul Galați .
In January 2010, Cluj announced that Leão had been transferred to FC Paços de Ferreira on a free transfer . Initially, it was rarely used there. At the beginning of the 2010/11 season he became a regular. With Paços de Ferreira, he initially played in midfield of the league, but was able to qualify for the Champions League with his team at the end of the 2012/13 season . There and in the subsequent group stage of the Europa League , he remained without a win with his club. At the same time he found himself in the league in a relegation battle and had to leave the Primeira Liga at the end of the season. Leão left the club to join Real Valladolid in the Spanish Segunda División . With his new club he tried in vain in three years to move up to the Primeria División. In the summer of 2017 he returned to Paços de Ferreira. At the end of the 2017/18 season , he had to relegate his team.
