Cornel Emilian Râpă (born January 16, 1990 in Galați ) is a Romanian football player . Since July 2018 he has been under contract at KS Cracovia in Ekstraklasa , Poland .

Career

Râpă began his career in his hometown with Oțelul Galați . In the summer of 2008 he moved up to the squad of the first team and came on November 23, 2008 in the game against Argeş Piteşti for his first appearance in League 1 . At the beginning of the 2009/10 season he became a regular under the new coach Dorinel Munteanu at the age of 19. After an eighth place, he surprisingly won the Romanian championship with his team in the following season . In the game against Universitatea Cluj on March 19, 2011, he was able to score his first goal in League 1.

In January 2013 Râpă left his hometown and moved to record champions Steaua Bucharest , where he won the 2013 championship. He was able to repeat this success a year later . However, he came only to seven missions during the season. In the following two seasons he was used more often. In the summer of 2016 he left Steaua for Pogoń Stettin in the Polish Ekstraklasa . At Pogoń he secured a regular place in the defense and occupied a place in the secured midfield with his team in the two following seasons.

National team

In November 2010, national coach Răzvan Lucescu Râpă called into the squad of the Romanian national team for a friendly against Italy . On November 17, he played his first international match from the start.
