FC Victoria Brăneşti is a Romanian football club from Brăneşti , Ilfov County . He has been playing in the third highest Romanian football league, Liga III , since the 2012/13 season .
history
Victoria Brăneşti was founded in 1968 and played in the minor leagues for almost 40 years. Its rapid ascent began in 2007 when the club was promoted to League III . Although relegation was always given as the season's goal, in 2009 he was promoted again - this time to League II . Just a year later, the march was perfect and Victoria managed to rise to the top division, Liga 1, under coach Ilie Stan in 2010 . Brăneşti replaced Scorniceşti as the smallest place in Romania from which a club had ever played in the top division. Since the Stadionul Cătălin Hîldan was not suitable for League 1 games due to its small size, Victoria played its first eleven home games in the 2010/11 season in the Stadionul Municipal of Buzău and the last six in the Stadionul Concordia of Chiajna . Because the team was nine points behind a non-relegation zone after the 27th matchday and the club was struggling with major financial problems, Ilie Stan terminated his coaching contract on April 19, 2011 and was replaced by the previous assistant coach Ciprian Urican . At the end of the season, the club rose from third bottom in the table in League II. After disappointing results in the first eleven championship games, head coach Urican was dismissed on October 31, 2011 and replaced by Marin Dună , the previous coach of the second team. During the winter break, the club withdrew from the game and had to relegate to League III.
