Career

Ilie's career began when he was accepted into the first team squad of Oțelul Galați in 2005, which played in Divizia A (now League 1 ), the highest Romanian football league. In November 2005 he came in the league game against Politehnica AEK Timișoara for his first use. In order to gain match practice, he switched to local rivals Dunărea Galați in Divizia B during the winter break . There he developed into a regular player and was able to place his club twice in the midfield of the league.

In the summer of 2007 Ilie returned to Oțelul and was also a regular under coach Petre Grigoraș and from summer 2009 under Dorinel Munteanu . After three years in midfield of League 1, he and his team won the Romanian championship against financially strong competition in the 2010/11 season and the Romanian Supercup at the beginning of the 2011/12 season . In early 2015, he left the club to promoted ASA Târgu Mureş . There he could not assert himself and only came on three missions. In the summer of 2015 he joined second division Farul Constanța . He was also rarely used by his trainer Constantin Gache . His contract was terminated in early 2016. He was without a club for half a year before FC Dunărea Călărași signed him in the summer .
