The midfielder had the greatest success with Dunărea in the 1998/99 season when they finished eleventh, but they rose in 1999/2000 and Apostol switched to Metalul Plopeni, with whom he rose from Divizia C to Divizia B in the first season in the Metaluldress . There he finished fifth in the 2001/02 season.

In 2002 he left Metalul and went to league rivals Gloria Buzau . There he was second with the club, where he came in the promotion playoff, but failed. The midfielder left Oțelul after a year and went to Farul Constanța . In his second first division season Apostol was able to finish fifth again. In August 2004 he tested positive for furosemide and was banned for six months for doping . Farul loaned it to Oțelul Galați , there he was ninth with the club. In the 2006/07 season he returned to Constanța . After returning, Apostol made his debut at European level when he was substituted in the second round of the UI Cup against Bulgarian representative Lokomotive Plovdiv in the 61st minute against Bogdan Apostu . The game ended 2-1. After this relatively successful start to the season, they finished 14th in the league.
