Raul Andrei Rusescu (born July 9, 1988 in Râmnicu Vâlcea ) is a Romanian football player . In 2012 he was named Romanian Footballer of the Year .

Career

society

Rusescu began his career at CSM Ramnicu Valcea in Divizia C . In 2005 he moved to Unirea Urziceni . In 2006 it was awarded to Dunărea Giurgiu . During the 2007/08 season he was awarded to CS Otopeni in the Liga II . In 2008 he returned to League 1 to Unirea Urziceni. On July 26, 2008 he made his debut in League I when he played in the 0-1 defeat against FC Brașov . In the same year he won his first title. After the runner-up in 2010 , he rose with his team at the end of the 2010/11 season in the League II.

After the dissolution of Unirea in summer 2011, Rusescu moved to record champions Steaua Bucharest . In the 2012/13 season he contributed 21 goals to winning the championship, which for him personally meant the title of top scorer. He was previously voted Romania's Footballer of the Year at the end of 2012 . He started his first foreign engagement in the 2013/14 season with the Spanish club Sevilla FC . There he was only used once in the first half of the 2013/14 season and was loaned to Sporting Braga in Portugal in January 2014 .

Shortly before the end of the transfer window, Rusescu returned to Steaua Bucharest on loan.

For the 2015/16 season he moved to the Turkish first division club Osmanlıspor FK and signed a three-year contract with this club.

National team

In September 2012 Rusescu was appointed by national coach Victor Pițurcă for the first time in the circle of the national team. On September 11, 2012 he came in the World Cup qualifier against Andorra for his first appearance when he came on in the 54th minute for Ciprian Marica . Despite his success with Steaua Bucharest, Pițurcă did not nominate him again until March 2013, where he was used against Hungary for 20 minutes.
