Dacian Șerban Varga (born October 15, 1984 in Petroșani ) is a Romanian football player . He has been without a club since summer 2016.

Career

society

The career of Varga began in 2003 with the capital club Sportul Studenţesc in Divizia B . At the end of the season he was promoted to Divizia A with his team . There he came only a few missions in the first year, but became an integral part of the team in the 2005/06 season . At the end of the season, the team was in fourth place and narrowly missed qualifying for the UEFA Cup , but had to be relegated due to tax debts. Varga remained loyal to Sportul one league lower, but missed promotion in the following two seasons.

In the winter break of 2008/09 Varga was loaned to the first division club Unirea Urziceni . This turned out to be a stroke of luck for him, because he was able to win the championship in 2009 with Unirea . The loan deal was then extended by half a year, but Varga only made a few appearances in the first half of the 2009/10 season . During the winter break he switched to league rival Rapid Bucharest on loan , but was only used there once.

In the summer of 2010, Varga finally returned to Sportul, which had meanwhile been promoted to League 1. Although he had already scored seven goals at the winter break , he was bottom of the table with his club. This agreed a loan deal with the Russian first division club FK Kuban Krasnodar . There he was able to qualify for the championship round. At the beginning of 2012 he returned to Sportul, but did not appear in the second half of the 2011/12 season and so could not prevent his team from relegating. In the summer of 2012, Varga was loaned to FC Vaslui for half a year . After his return in early 2013, Varga was no longer used for Sportul. He missed the second half of the 2012/13 season and his club withdrew from the game shortly after the start of the 2013/14 season . He was without a club for half a year before CSU Craiova signed him in early 2014 , with whom he was promoted to League 1. At the beginning of March 2015, his contract in Craiova was terminated.

In the summer of 2015 Varga initially moved to ASA Târgu Mureș , but only two weeks later he was hired by Petrolul Ploiești . With Petrolul he had to relegate at the end of the season . Since then he has been without a club.

National team

Varga made his debut in the jersey of the Romanian national team on February 11, 2009 when he came on for Ciprian Marica in the 87th minute of the friendly against Croatia . In October 2009 national coach Răzvan Lucescu nominated him again for his squad. In the World Cup qualifier against Serbia he was on the starting line-up. It then took two years before he was reappointed in November 2011.
