The Prva Makedonska Liga 2008/09 was the 17th season of the highest football league in North Macedonia . The season began on August 3, 2008 and ended on May 31, 2009. The defending champion was Rabotnički Skopje . Makedonija Skopje became master for the first time .

Two days before the start of the season, FK Bashkimi Kumanovo withdrew from the game for financial reasons. The remaining eleven teams competed against each other in three rounds, so that each had to play 30 games. The last two descended directly.

The two clubs on the relegation places won their games against the third and fourth of the second division and thus remained in the top division.
