history

The football club Metalurg Skopje was founded in 1964 and played for the first time in the top Macedonian league, the Prva Makedonska Liga , in the 1992/93 season . After Metalurg was relegated to the second Macedonian league in 1993, the club only managed to return to the Prva Liga in the 2007/08 season. In the 2009/10 season, Metalurg took 3rd place and qualified for a European competition for the first time in the club's history. In 2012/13 Metalurg was Macedonian runner-up for the third time in a row.
