George Daniel Galamaz (born April 5, 1981 in Bucharest ) is a former Romanian football player on the position of central defender . He played a total of 255 games in the Romanian League 1 and the Cypriot First Division . In 2009 he won the Romanian championship with Unirea Urziceni .

Career

Galamaz began his career at Sportul Studențesc , to which he was loyal from 1998 to 2003. In his first season he played with the "students" in Divizia B , where 13th place could be achieved. Already in its third season 2000/01 the relay victory could be achieved and the club rose to the highest Romanian league .

In the first first division year the club was able to hold on to success in the relegation playoff in the first division, but relegation came in 2002/03 . Then Galamaz left the club and moved to Rapid Bucharest , the reigning champions. In his first season at Rapid he was able to book eleven appearances and score one goal, the club was third.

In 2004 he moved to city rivals Dinamo Bucharest , where he was initially used in the second team before he made his first appearances in the first team. In his first season at Dinamo, he also came on a European level. In the UEFA Cup , the defender was used in the game against the Serbian representative FK Partizan Belgrade in the first round. In the first leg in Belgrade he was substituted in the 59th minute against Liviu Ciobotariu . The club was eliminated against Partizan. In the championship Dinamo was runner-up and the Romanian Cup could be won. Third place was achieved in the following year. In the 2006/07 season Galamaz first played for six months at Dinamo before moving to Unirea Urziceni . His former club Dinamo became champions at the end of the year, which also made the central defender a champion through his appearances in the fall. He finished tenth with his new club.

In its first full season in Urziceni , the club was able to qualify for the UEFA Cup and was fifth in the championship. In the 2008/09 season he was able to celebrate his second championship title. Galamaz completed 32 games in the championship season and scored four goals.

In the 2009/10 season he played in the UEFA Champions League against FC Sevilla , VfB Stuttgart and Glasgow Rangers . In late August 2010, he moved to league rivals Steaua Bucharest . With the capital club, he won the Romanian Cup in 2011 , but remained only a supplementary player during the season. In the winter break of 2011/12 he left Steaua and moved to league rivals Universitatea Cluj . There he became a regular again. Half a year later, league competitor Petrolul Ploieşti took him under contract. At the beginning of 2013, Galamaz joined the Cypriot first division club Anorthosis Famagusta . There he ended his active career at the end of the year.

National team

Due to the good performance in the seasons 2008/09 and 2009/10 he was called up on October 14, 2009 for the qualifying game for the 2010 World Cup in South Africa against the Faroe Islands and came to his first international match. In the 26th minute he came on for Dorin Goian . The game was won 3-1. After two more nominations in 2010, Galamaz played his last international match against Luxembourg on September 2, 2011 .
