history
Sportul Snagov was founded in 2007 in Măciuca , Vâlcea County , under the name Petrodam Măciuca . In 2008 the club name was changed to AS Damila Măciuca - named after the company Damila . The club initially played sub-class before moving up to League III in 2011. There the march through to League II succeeded in season 4 . The season 2012/13 ended the club in third place in season 2 and missed the renewed promotion only because of a point against ACS Poli Timișoara . In 2013 the club moved to Reșița and changed its name to Metalul Reșița . Under this name, the local club CSM Școlar Reșița had won the Romanian Cup in 1954 . In the 2013/14 season , after the end of the first phase of the season , the club was still in second place of its season, completed the promotion round in fourth place and thus again missed promotion to League 1. 2016 the club moved from Reșița to Snagov and changed its name to CS Sportul Snagov in 2017 .
