description

It was originally released as a successor to the Renault Type C . The national licensing authority granted the license on February 2, 1901. Production ended in the same year. The successor was the Renault Type G , which appeared at the end of 1901.

A single cylinder engine from De Dion-Bouton with a bore of 80 mm and a stroke of 90 mm produced 4.5 hp from a displacement of 452 cm³ . A source deviates from 80 to 90 mm bore, 80 to 110 mm stroke, but uniformly 450 cm³ displacement and engine outputs of 4.5 HP and 6.25 HP. The side-mounted water cooler had seven to eight cooling elements. The engine power was sent to the rear axle via a cardan shaft . The maximum speed was given as 25 km / h to 40 km / h.

Alternatively, a stand built-in motor of Aster available.

With a wheelbase of 165 cm, the vehicle was 260 cm long, 125 cm wide and 135 cm high. The empty weight was 500 kg. There was a choice of two-seater Phaeton with or without a rear jump seat and tonneau .

The original price was 4500 francs .

This model differed from its predecessor in that it had a slightly inclined steering column with a steering wheel instead of a vertical steering lever.

The sportier Renault Type E was based on this model.
