The Renault Type AL was an early passenger car model from Renault . It was also called 8 CV .
description
Renault only manufactured this model in 1907. It was a modification of the Renault Type AG . The Renault Type AN was similar .
A water-cooled two - cylinder engine with a 75 mm bore and 120 mm stroke produced 8 hp from a displacement of 1060 cm³ . The engine power was sent to the rear axle via a cardan shaft .
With a wheelbase of 262 cm and a track width of 126 cm, the vehicle was 360 cm long, 155 cm wide and 215 cm high. The chassis weighed 540 kg, the complete vehicle 1050 kg. A landaulet body was standard , as the vehicle was used as a taxi in London .
