The Renault Puncher was a distribution truck, specially designed as a garbage truck , built by Renault Trucks from 2004. The chassis was offered in 4x2 or 6x2 versions with a Renault 7.2 liter (206 kW) or a Cummins 8.3 liter diesel engine (184 kW). A 4- or 6-speed automatic transmission transmitted the power. The puncher had a lowered driver's cab, with the entrance only 420 mm above the ground. Electric sliding doors on both sides allowed three people to sit on air-cushioned seats. As the engines did not meet the Euro 5 standard, production was discontinued in 2009. The successor Renault Access was developed by Renault together with the English company Dennis Eagle on its Elite model. In contrast to the puncher, this model is also available in Germany.
