The Renault Type NE was a passenger car model of the interwar period of Renault . It was also called 15 CV .

description

The national licensing authority granted its approval on April 26, 1924. The predecessor was the Renault Type ME , which was manufactured in parallel for a while. The model upgrade led to the type NE 1 in 1926 . The successor Renault Type PG followed in the same year .

The water-cooled four-cylinder engine with 85 mm bore and 140 mm stroke had 3178 cc engine capacity . The engine power was sent to the rear axle via a cardan shaft . The maximum speed was specified as 48 km / h to 60 km / h, depending on the gear ratio.

With a wheelbase of 338.8 cm and a track width of 144 cm, the vehicle was 438.3 cm long and 165.5 cm wide. The turning circle was given as 13 meters. The chassis weighed 1080 kg. The choice was between touring car and sedan .

In 1926 the vehicles were given the Renault rhombus instead of a round emblem on the front and round front fenders .

Similar models with the same engine were the less luxurious Renault Type NO and the Renault Type NS with a lower chassis.
