Renault Triber is a minivan on the CMF-A platform ( Datsun redi-GO , Renault Kwid ) made by Renault - Nissan , presented in 2019. The vehicle is powered by a gasoline engine . It is manufactured by the Renault India subsidiary . It was developed for the Indian market, but has now also been introduced in Indonesia.

As part of the “Drive the Future” plan, Renault wants to increase its sales by more than 40 percent and aims to sell more than five million vehicles by 2022 and to double sales in India to 200,000 per year over the next three years. The Renault Triber was presented in India on June 19, 2019 and at the 27th Indonesia International Auto Show in Indonesia from July 18 to 28, 2019.

The vehicle

The Renault Triber is available in several versions:

as a two-seater with a large trunk, according to Renault well suited for camping
as a four-seater with two individual seats on the passenger side (the resulting free space is intended for a surfboard )
as a five-seater with a trunk of 625 liters
and as a seven-seater

The Renault Triber has a radiator grille with three chrome-plated strips, projector headlights , daytime running lights with LED headlights , two-part rear lights , an underride guard , roof rails and 15-inch wheels . The spacious cabin has an eight-inch touch screen system with Android Auto and Apple carplay compatibility, a start-stop system , a cooled lower glove box , a central storage space and cupholders .

As a five-seater, the Renault Triber has a 625-liter trunk, with six seats it holds 320 liters and with seven seats 84 liters. There are four airbags : driver, passenger and two side airbags.

The rear doors can be opened to an angle of up to 74 degrees. There are a total of over 100 different ways to configure the car seats.

The Renault Triber is powered by a three-cylinder gasoline engine with a displacement of 1000 cubic centimeters, which delivers a maximum torque of 96 Newton meters. The transmission is a five-speed manual transmission . The fuel tank holds 40 liters. Consumption is certified by the Automotive Research Association of India at 4.8 liters per 100 kilometers .

Sales started on August 28, 2019. The seven-seater is manufactured in the Renault plant in Chennai . The sales price in India was expected to be around 550,000 to 750,000 Indian rupees (just under 7,000 to 9,500 euros in 2019).
