The Renault Clio V is the fifth generation of the small car Clio from the French car manufacturer Renault .
Model history
The fifth generation of the Clio was presented at the 89th Geneva Motor Show in March 2019. The first vehicles were delivered from September 21, 2019. Compared to the previous model, the model is slightly shorter and flatter. With a longer wheelbase, the interior should be larger. Renault specifies the trunk volume as 391 liters.
The design corresponds to the Renault shape that Laurens van den Acker introduced in 2009.
Furnishing
At launch, the Clio V will be offered in five equipment lines.
- Zen (basic equipment)
- Business
- Intens
- RS Line
- Initial Paris
Engines, chassis
At the market launch or a little later, petrol engines with a displacement of 1.0 and 1.3 liters and a 1.5-liter diesel engine were available. These three engines are the result of a joint development with Daimler and are used there in Smart or Mercedes-Benz models, largely identically constructed as the Mercedes-Benz M 281 , M 282 and OM 608 .
At the beginning of 2020, Renault also presented the Clio V as a full hybrid : A 1.6-liter gasoline engine is combined with two electric motors , and Renault specifies a system output of 103 kW (140 hp). This drive is a joint development by Renault-Nissan and Mitsubishi.
The Clio V has MacPherson struts at the front and a torsion beam axle at the rear .
