description

The national licensing authority granted its approval on April 11, 1922. As a variant of the Renault Type IR , the model had neither a predecessor nor a successor. The facelift led to the Type JV 1 , which was approved on November 22, 1922. Production ended in 1923.

The water-cooled six - cylinder engine with 110 mm bore and 160 mm stroke had a displacement of 9123 cm³ . The engine power was sent to the rear axle via a cardan shaft . The maximum speed was specified as 70 km / h to 92 km / h, depending on the gear ratio.

With a wheelbase of either 380.1 cm or 399.4 cm and a track width of 144 cm, the vehicle was 493 cm or 512 cm long and 170 cm wide.

Type JV

The radiator was located behind the engine. Initially, this model - like all Renault models for around 20 years - had a narrow bonnet with the radiator protruding from the side. This model was also available in the new version, where the bonnet and radiator were the same width and height.

The turning circle was given as 15 to 16 meters. The chassis weighed 1680 kg. Only a limousine has survived .

Type JV 1

The bonnet and radiator were the same width and height. The turning circle was now given as 16 to 17 meters. The chassis weighed 1850 kg, the complete vehicle 2650 kg. The choice was between touring car , limousine and Landaulet . The chassis cost 52,000 francs .
