description

Louis Baudry de Saunier wrote about this model in La Locomotion on April 27, 1902 . The official presentation took place in December 1902 at the Paris Motor Show . The national licensing authority granted the license on December 4, 1902. It was the successor to the Renault Type G , which was offered in parallel for a short time. Its successor was the Renault Type M , which appeared in the spring of 1903.

A single cylinder engine from De Dion-Bouton with a 100 mm bore and 120 mm stroke developed 8 hp from a displacement of 942 cm³ . One source indicates a bore of 90 to 100 mm, a stroke of 100 to 120 mm and a displacement of 934 to 942 cm³. The water cooler was mounted on the side of the engine. The engine power was sent to the rear axle via a cardan shaft . The top speed was specified as 29 km / h to 38 km / h, depending on the gear ratio.

With a wheelbase of 230 cm, a track width of 120 cm and a chassis length of 274 cm, the vehicle was 340 cm long, 150 cm wide and 220 cm high. The chassis weighed 500 kg, the complete vehicle 900 kg. The only available body variant was a tonneau with a roof.
