The Renault Type BX was an early passenger car model from Renault . It was also called 14 CV .

description

The national licensing authority granted its approval on December 3, 1909. Predecessor was the Renault Type X . Production ended in 1910. In 1911 the Renault Type CC became the successor.

A water-cooled four - cylinder engine with a 90 mm bore and 120 mm stroke produced 14 to 16 hp from a displacement of 3054 cm³ . The engine power was sent to the rear axle via a cardan shaft . The maximum speed was specified as 46 km / h to 64 km / h, depending on the gear ratio.

With a wheelbase of 308 cm and a track width of 136 cm, the vehicle was 434.5 cm long and 166 cm wide. The turning circle was given as 14.5 meters. The chassis weighed 900 kg, the complete vehicle 1550 kg. There was a choice of double phaeton , touring cars , sedans and phaeton . The chassis cost 11,800 francs .

On December 1, 2008, the Bonhams auction house auctioned a sedan from 1909 with a body by Henry Binder and expected a price of 63,000 to 76,000 euros .
