The Renault Type S was an early passenger car model from Renault . It was also called 14/20 CV .

description

This model was the successor to the Renault Type N (a) and Type N (b) . It appeared on the market in October 1903. The national licensing authority granted its approval on October 15, 1903. Successors were the Renault Type U (b) and Type U (c) .

A water-cooled four - cylinder engine with a 90 to 100 mm bore and 100 to 120 mm stroke developed 14 to 20 hp from 2545 cm³ to 3770 cubic capacity . The engine power was sent to the rear axle via a cardan shaft . The maximum speed was specified as 39 km / h to 65 km / h, depending on the gear ratio.

With a wheelbase of 240 cm, the vehicle was 350 cm long and 155 cm wide. The chassis weighed 800 kg, the complete vehicle 1170 kg. There was a choice of Tonneau , Phaeton and special bodies.
