The Renault Mégane IV is the fourth generation of the compact car Mégane from Renault .
history
The hatchback variant was presented on September 15, 2015 at the International Motor Show in Frankfurt am Main . The vehicle came to the dealerships in March 2016.
The estate version of the Mégane IV, known as the Grand Tour, was presented at the Geneva Motor Show 2016. It came to the dealers in September 2016.
On July 12, 2016, Renault published the first images of the notchback version of the Mégane IV. This succeeds the Renault Fluence and is built in Bursa, Turkey . While the sedan is sold in many European countries, it is not available in Germany, Austria, Switzerland and France, among others.
Renault presented the sports version RS of the hatchback at the International Motor Show in September 2017. This is powered by a supercharged 1.8-liter gasoline engine with 206 kW (280 hp). The engine is also used in a modified form in the Alpine A110 presented at the 2017 Geneva Motor Show . The Megane RS has been on sale since the end of January 2018. A performance-enhanced version, the RS Trophy, has also been sold since September 2018 . On April 5, 2019, an RS Trophy-R optimized for the race track lapped the Nordschleife of the Nürburgring in 7:40:10 minutes. The vehicle thus replaced the Honda Civic Type-R as the fastest front-wheel drive car on the racetrack. This vehicle also set a new record for this vehicle class in July 2019 at the Belgian Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps with 2:48:34 minutes. On the occasion of these records, Renault issued a version of the RS Trophy-R limited to 500 copies .
In February 2020, Renault announced that the Mégane IV would be revised in summer 2020. A version with a plug-in hybrid drive will also be introduced. This is initially only available for the station wagon.
