Renault had developed the Kerax series especially for construction site traffic. The two- to four-axle chassis were particularly stable and each version offered very high ground clearance. In the drive train, they were equipped with transverse and longitudinal locks depending on the axle configuration. The wheelbases are comparable to tipper vehicle and tractor unit values . In addition to Renault , Iveco also offers a similar series with the Trakker . The Kerax was available with a standard cabin (i.e. short), a medium-length cabin and a long cabin (8x8 version). This was equipped with a fold-out lounger for longer waiting times, for which you have to fold down the seats.
